About the author
Catherine Petroski (b.1939) was born in St Louis and educated at the University of Illinois. She has taught both literature and writing. She is not a prolific author, but amongst her books are two which feature horses, Beautiful my Mane in the Wind, and The Summer That Lasted Forever.
