Pony Magazines – the early years

Pony Magazine was started in 1949 and still continues today. The magazine was started by David Murphy and Lieut-Col Charles Hope. Hope had been responsible for the children’s section of Riding, and saw a gap in the market for a horsy magazine exclusively for children. History has proved him right: Riding folded in the March 2000, but Pony is still going strong today.

I’m going to list the magazines for which I have pictures. You can assume that if there’s no picture, I would dearly love to have one, so if you can help, let me know (please, no pictures taken at an angle. Nice straight sides.

None of these magazines are for sale. This page is purely a record of past issues.
