Katie’s Midnight Ride

James Lorimer, Canada, 1997

There’s a barrel race at the Heritage Days Rodeo, and Katie plans to win. She should have a good chance – her horse Fudge is certainly up to it. However, as the day of the rodeo nears, Katie’s plans look as if they’ll be scuppered. Her brother wants Fudge for his own purposes, and their parents back him up. What will Katie do? There’s just one thing – find another horse. The horse she finds, Midnight, is coal black and has a bad reputation. It’s up to Katie to prove the doubters wrong.
