About the author
Gaby Hauptmann is a German author who grew up in Trossingen. She has written for both children and adults: if I tell you that In Search of an Impotent Man, A Handful of Manhood and Grabbing the Family Jewels are some of her adult novels, you will see that her children’s books are something of a departure. She has written the Kaya – Free and Strong pony series with her daughter Valeska, who has plenty of relevant experience, having been a European Champion in ponies in 2007. The Kaya series, although it has been optioned by a British producer, has only had three titles translated into English. As the books were picked up by Stabenfeldt, who no longer work in the English language market, it’s unlikely more titles will appear in English. Her other horse story still only published in German is Alexa die Amazone.
