Siamon, Sharon

About the author

Canadian author Sharon Siamon grew up in rural Southern Ontario. She was educated at the Universities of Toronto, Nipissing and York. As a child, her family were too busy to have horses, but she was horse mad, and would ride the work horses (being scraped off their backs regularly) and her friends’ horses. She has three daughters and is still keen on the outdoor life, writing in the mornings and hiking, canoeing, and riding if she gets the chance. She writes in an office which overlooks the woods, and which is full of horse books and pictures. Wherever she writes, it certainly works; her tally of books is high. As well as contributing titles to the Sleepover series, animal stories and text books, she’s written three horse series, and one general series, Blue Kite, which contains two horse stories.

Her Blue Kite books are aimed at the younger reader, but most of her series are aimed at teenagers, featuring strong heroines finding their way in the world, in stories which sometimes have a dash of romance.

Finding the books
Some of the Mustang Mountain series have been published in the UK by Egmont. All the titles are still in print, and can be found easily secondhand. The Campfire Sleepover was also published in the UK, and is easy to find. Those series titles not published in the UK are easy to find in the USA (and are still in print), and some do turn up in the UK. The Wild Horse Creek series appears to be available as print on demand. The hardest titles to find are the two Blue Kite series titles.
