About the author
Grace Skaar wrote and illustrated children’s stories for the younger reader, most of which involved animals. She wrote one horse story, A Boy and His Horse, which looks at what it is like to finally get your own horse.
A Boy and His Horse, which is as far as I know her only horse story, was first published by William R Scott in 1958, and was illustrated by Grace Skaar herself. The UK edition had new illustrations by Monica Brasier-Creagh.
