Afraid to Ride

Jill has completely lost her nerve after a fall: not ideal conditions, you’d think, for a stay at a riding school.

This book was written as part of a four-book commission for Collins’s Spitfire books imprint, under the author name Jane Eliot. Jill has been put off riding by an accident at a bad riding school, but when she goes to stay with her cousins and their Aunt Jo, she is faced with ponies everywhere. Then she discovers the Fell pony, Digory, in a field.  He has been condemned as dangerous, but Jill likes him.
