Fancy and the Cement Patch

Reilly & Lee, 1964, Chicago, 60 pp, illus Frank Aloise

A Shetland pony story: Jamie’s uncle gives him Fancy, a Shetland. The major problem here is that however small Fancy is, Jamie doesn’t have anywhere to graze her. He lives in New York and the only outside space they have is a cement patch.
