Vinton, Iris

About the author

Iris Vinton (1906–88) was born in West Point. She wrote several children’s historical stories, mostly based on fact. Flying Ebony (1947) was made into a film called The Mooncussers. Iris Vinton was also one of the cohort of authors who contributed to the immensely long Nancy Drew series.

Finding the books
The American printing of Flying Ebony is reasonably easy to find, though the UK printing can be tricky.
