Emily Thorne is an American author, who’s written YA novels. Her other titles include Enter Nurse Marian (1956) and Flight Hostess (1958). Her one horse story is A Cup for Janet (1957), in which our heroine falls for an arrogant trainer. Alas biographical information on her seems thin on the ground, so if you can help, do please contact me.
