Storm, Mark

About the author

There is a Mark Storm famous for his paintings of Western scenes. I’ve been unable to find out if he’s the same Mark Storm as this author. It’s possible, but if you know one way or the other, please contact me.

Finding the book
The American printing is easy to find; the UK one much less so

Kirkus review

When the colt was born, the owner of the Flying H ranch declared it the “mangiest, no-account hunk of fleabitten critter“ he had ever seen. He gave the colt to Gavvy, the nine-year-old Mexican boy who works on the ranch. Gavvy and the colt grow up together, with setbacks and triumphs for both, but
each grows up to be a credit to the other.
