Smith, Beatrice, S

About the author

Beatrice S Smith is an American author about whom I’ve managed to find out remarkably little. She seems to have written mainly for children, writing both fiction and non fiction. Her one horse story is about a blind boy who has a special relationship with an untameable horse.

Louis Shilling is blind. He and the bay gelding Tipperary have a special relationship: Louis is the only person who is able to ride the horse with ease. By everyone else, Tipperary is considered an outlaw. However, Tipperary gets loose, and he is captured and turned into a famous bucking horse.
