About the author
Charles K Skelton is an author I’ve had no success at all in tracking down. As far as I’m aware, he wrote just the one book, Riding West on the Pony Express.

Chet and Heff both want to sign up with the newly formed Pony Express, but the Pony Express doesn’t take just anyone. Chet does manage to get taken on, but he only manages a few runs before he is shot by a would-be robber.
