About the author
Ellen Jane MacLeod wrote several Christian children’s stories; from the descriptions of the many that are available secondhand, it appears that her publishers did a brisk trade in providing them for Sunday School prizes. At least one has some horse content; it’s quite possible others do (I particularly suspect Alaska Star).
