About the author
John Lindsey (b.1909) was a pseudonym used by John Saint Clair Muriel. He wrote biographies of Wren, Lady Jane Grey and Robert Burns, and also several novels, amongst which are two horsey titles: The Bay Filly (1945) and White Socks (1948).
