About the author
Adelaide Leitch is a Canadian author. Her books include The Great Canoe and Lukey Paul from Labrador. One of her books is a horse story: The Blue Roan (1971), the story of a boy who thinks he knows everything about horses until he buys one, when he soon finds out he’s been wrong about quite a few things.

Roddy thinks he knows everything about horses. He buys a horse so he’ll be somebody, but the horse he buys is Boots, a soured games horse. Boots does win games for him, but the horse becomes increasingly difficult to deal with.
