About the author
Ruth Adams Knight (1894–1974) was born in Ohio and educated at Toledo University. She created a radio series, Brave Tomorrow, and wrote other radio programmes. She wrote television scripts, and books for adults and children, amongst which is this story of Thoroughbreds in Kentucky, written with Claud W Garner. Claud W Garner (1891–1978) was a composer and writer, who began writing at the age of 50. Most of his books, including Word of Honor, saw their heroes moving from poverty to wealth. As far as I am aware, the pair wrote just one book together.
