Kalnay, Francis

About the author

Francis Kalnay (b.1899) was born in Budapest, Hungary, and came to the United States in 1919. He worked as a farmer, as well as supporting himself through journalism and writing. Chúcaro, Wild Pony of the Pampa, which Kirkus called “a simple but effective story”, was a  Newbery Medal Honor Book.
