About the author

Joanne Hoppe grew up in Maine and was educated in the theatrical arts. She toured Europe in various plays, and began her writing career by composing questions for the Johnny Carson daytime quiz show Who Do You Trust? She and her husband lived in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, where she was senior English teacher in Greenwich High School. She had three children with her husband, Edward, a writer and producer for CBS News. Joanne Hoppe wrote four children’s books between 1979 and 1992, of which one, Pretty Penny Farm, was a horse book.
