About the author
Howard L Hastings was an author and illustrator. Biographical detail about him is difficult to find. What can be ascertained is that he illustrated more than he wrote; one of the few titles he both wrote and illustrated is this horse book Top Horse of Crescent Ranch. He illustrated books for several children’s writers, including four of David Stone’s Yank Brown books, and four of the Hunniwell Boys series.
