About the author

Lin Edmonds is the pseudonym used by Lin Harbertson. She wrote the Patric the Pony series for her grandson, and it’s now up to its sixth volume. The series celebrates loyalty and friendship.

Patric the Pony Finds a Friend

Patric the pony meets a rabbit, and he and Harry are soon friends. Patric’s a quick
pony, and he’s always won his races with rabbits. He can’t understand why Harry
always wins. Harry though has problems. He wants to find a way to hide from the
coyotes.

Patric the Pony and the Flash of Lightning

Patric the pony hides his friend Harry the rabbit in a tree to save him from the coyotes.
The coyotes aren’t happy about this, and when Patric won’t hand Harry over, they
decide to eat Patric too. Then Patric is aved by a white borzoi, Eclair.

Patric the Pony and the Golden Salamander

The salamanders, Sally, Mandy and Der have a terrible problem: their world has been destroyed by a tractor. The two ponies, Patric and Deedee, decide to help, but also have to battle against the fact they’re two very different characters. Patric loves mud, and Deedee doesn’t even like to get her tail dirty.

Drumlin, an old horse, stolen years ago,is found and returned to the meadow. He
tells the other ponies stories of his past. He warns Patric and Deedee about men with whips, and also tells them that friendship is more important than winning blue ribbons. When someone tries to steal Patric and Deedee at a show, they find out just how true Drumlin’s words are.

Jaden is a girl who finds everyday life difficult: she can’t stand loud noises, or crowds. She wants to be a star, like her sister, but she can’t keep her balance when she’s

The coyotes are still after Patric. Olivia takes Patric to the barn to keep him safe, but Patric has other ideas. The barn’s dull, and lonely. His friends Harry and Froggy help him to escape and they go back to the meadow to find Olivia. Melissa, the black mare has fallen and can’t get up, and that’s serious as she’s about to have a foal.

Jaden and the Terrible, Terrible Toad

Authorhouse, 2011, 36 pp.

Jaden goes to summer camp and is bullied by a boy called Allan. She runs away and
her friend Jacob finds her, watching a toad. She rescues the toad from a fire, and
Allan learns important lessons.
