About the author
Marylois Dunn (1930–2013) was an author and librarian. During her career, she wrote several children’s books, one of which was a horse story: The Absolutely Perfect Horse (1983). Her most successful book was The Man in the Box, A Story of Vietnam (1968), which won the Oklahoma Sequoiah Children’s Book award in 1968. She served as a librarian in Houston for over 30 years. Co-writer Ardath Mayhar is a prolific author of science fiction.
