Betancourt, Jeanne

About the author

Jeanne Betancourt grew up in Vermont, and dreamed of becoming a dancer. She wrote her first book in 1982, reflecting what was going on in her own life at the time; having a daughter who was in the joint custody of her and her husband.

Her books have carried on reflecting her own life and experiences: dyslexia in My Name is Brian, and of course ponies in her Pony Pals series. This now numbers over 30 titles, and appears to be still going in strong, now being joined by the Pony Mysteries series. Betancourt says she likes writing fiction: “Although it’s lonely, it’s kind of company in an odd way.”
