About the author

Frank Stevens farmed in Herefordshire in the Wye Valley, and wrote his collection of poems about every day horsey life ‘as a result of his enjoyment of days out hunting with local packs, and because he admires so much the Pony Club Movement for all the fun and enjoyment it brings to ponies, and to their riders as well.’ The illustrator, Maureen Paul, also farmed, and worked Shire horses.
