About the author
Alexa Romanes has had a very varied career: she played the Larkins’ eldest daughter Mariette (the part which later brought Catherine Zeta Jones to fame) in the BBC Radio adaptation Just Perfick from 1969. As well as writing two pony books, a play and an early reader, she has, together with William Carnell, produced A Dartmoor Cantata, which is based on the legends of Dartmoor. She is still keen on folklore, and is also a member of a Ladies’ Morris side, Cogs and Wheels Ladies Morris.
