The Little Brown Horse

Blackie & Son, London, 1934, 208 pp, illus Radcliffe Wilson

It was for Nellie that the little brown horse was caught out in the bush, and trained, to be given as a present to Nellie on her birthday. Nylie was born out in the bush, although her mother had been a tame horse who escaped, and ran with the brumbies. Nylie and Nellie take to each other right away, and have many adventures, including a bush fire, escaping from a horse thief, and the role Nylie plays in the search for Nellie, when she becomes lost on foot in the bush.
