Ross, Diana

Diana Ross (1910–2000) was born in Malta, and educated at Girton College, Cambridge and the Central School of Art. She wrote, and illustrated, many books for young children, including her best known books, a series about a Little Red Engine, which humanised trains several years before the Revd Awdry. She wrote The Story of Louisa for the Picture Puffin series. It’s a charming tale of a horse determined to do her best for her elderly owner.

Finding the book
Reasonably easy to find, but copies do not always survive in good condition.
