Gurney, E Mary

About the author

Elizabeth Mary Gurney (1900–38) wrote her first story for The Bulletin, Sydney, in 1933, and then wrote for many Australian and New Zealand papers. Many of her stories were set in Hawke’s Bay, which is where she was educated, with her later stories being inspired by her days with the Pakuranga Hunt Club. Pageant from the Foothills is a collection of her short stories.  Elizabeth Gurney died at the age of 38 after being kicked by her horse.

Finding the book
Not the easiest of books to find, but not necessarily extortionate when it does turn up.
