Laura Crum

 

Laura Crum lives in California, and is the author of the Gail McCarthy series, mysteries about an equine vet.  She has lived in Santa Cruz all her life, where her family have had a ranch for four generations.  She was educated at California Polytechnic University, and then worked at a horse packing station, after which she ran a ranch and worked for professional cowhorse trainers. Inspired by one of her favourite authors, Dick Francis, she started to write.  Her first book, Cutter, was published in 1994, and her Gail McCarthy series now numbers  

 

Finding the books:  the majority of the books appear to be obtainable in the UK; they are readily available in the USA.
